Online Customer Service Training

About the Program

"Serving Great Faces in Great Places" is the theme of the online customer service training created by the South Dakota Department of Tourism and the College of Business and Technology at Black Hills State University.

This training is primarily for front-line employees who are the first people to come into contact with travelers to South Dakota. You are our state's first impression and the goal of this training is to help you with awareness and ideas to make the best first impression possible.

Business owners/managers are required to register their businesses before any of their employees are able to register and access the training. Managers will be able to monitor each of their employee's progress. When finished, each employee will receive a certificate of completion. Participating businesses will also receive a certificate of participation.

This training does meet the requirements for the Employee Hospitality Training component of the Great Service Star program.


Owners/Managers

Before anyone begins, each owner/manager must register his or her business.

Follow the Owner/Manager instructions below. This only needs to be done once and allows your employees to access the training and allows you to monitor their progress.

In order for owners/managers to complete the training, they must also register as an individual employee.

 

Employees

Your place of employment must be registered before you can register and access the training.

Follow the Employee instructions below.


Once you have completed the registration steps one time, you only need to keep track of the ID Code, your Login User Name and your Password. If you forget your login information, there is a link, "Forgot login?," to request your Login User Name and your Password.


Owner/Manager
Employee

Step 1:
Contact the Office of Tourism at 605-773-3301 for your Customer Service Training ID Code.

Step 2:
Go to the link below and enter the ID Code.

Step 3:
Click the text link for "Manager Registration"

Step 4:
On the "Manager Registration" page, enter all required information (*) and click SUBMIT.

Step 5:
Type in your Login User Name and Password and click ENTER.

To monitor the progress of your employee(s), repeat step 2 and then click on the "Manager Login" link to login.

Step 1:
Contact your manager before trying to register and ask for the Customer Service Training ID Code.

Step 2:
Go to the link below and enter the ID Code.

Step 3:
Click the text link for "New User Registration"

Step 4:
On the "User Registration" page, enter all required information (*), including selecting your business and manager from the "Manager" dropdown list, and click SUBMIT.

Step 5:
Type in your Login User Name and Password and click ENTER.
