Visitor Spending

The graph below illustrates the percent change of revenue components for 2011 compared to 2010. Promotion tax saw a large increase of 9.2% while Gaming tax experienced a slight 0.2% decrease. Currently, Promotion Tax is up 0.6% YTD through November and Gaming Tax is down 6.4% YTD through November.

The graph below shows how 2011 tourism taxable sales compare to 2010 taxable sales. Tourism taxable sales experienced its first decline of 2011, with a 1% decline in May. After experiencing the largest decline of 2011 in September, October saw another decline of 9.6%. Taxable Sales rebounded in November with an increase of 6.1%. The largest increase of the year occurred in January with a 25.6% increase.
