Peak travel season is quickly approaching for our visitors. Soon your efforts and hard work will be showcased to world-wide travelers, who come to enjoy South Dakota’s Great Faces and Great Places. With gas prices on the rise, we know that again we’ll have challenges to face. But year after year, South Dakota’s visitor industry finds a way to prevail, and I know, without a doubt, this year will be no different.
The South Dakota Department of Tourism recently kicked off the new ad campaign, titled “Your American Journey.” The campaign kickoff sparked much conversation, and I’m excited to see how visitors react to this new effort to attract them to our great state. The feedback we’ve received already has been incredibly positive.
However, nothing is better than watching our individual communities, attractions and businesses, information centers, and customer service staff interact on a personal level with arriving visitors. We thank you for being a part of our visitors “American Journey;” without you, a visit to South Dakota wouldn’t be quite as memorable.
