PIERRE, S.D. – Travel South Dakota is thrilled to announce it has been awarded a Gold and a Silver W3 Award for two of its outstanding email marketing campaigns. The W3 Awards, which honor creative excellence on the web, are the result of the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts specifically recognizing the work of innovative digital campaigns worldwide, marking a prestigious achievement.
The Gold W3 Award was awarded for Travel South Dakota’s consumer emails, which shine a light on attractions, inspire exploration to every corner of the state across interests and seasons, and share travel tips for those who signed up for emails on TravelSouthDakota.com.
Travel South Dakota also earned a Silver W3 Award for its Travel Insights email campaign. Distributed to South Dakota’s tourism industry members, these emails utilize creative themes – in this case, movies and baseball-themed designs – and language to share the latest news about visitor spending, and the tourism industry’s influence on employment, income, and tax revenue in South Dakota.
Both email campaigns were developed in partnership with Lawrence & Schiller.
“Whether we’re reaching out to inspire future visitors or inviting our residents to discover something new close to home, each email series was crafted to inspire and share our love of South Dakota with the world,” said James Hagen, Secretary of the Department of Tourism. “We’re honored to receive these awards and hope they help even more people discover the magic of South Dakota.”
