PIERRE, S.D. – Travel South Dakota was honored with multiple awards at the 59th Annual American Advertising Awards in Sioux Falls on February 28. In collaboration with agency partner Lawrence & Schiller, Travel South Dakota earned top recognition for its email marketing campaigns.
Included in the awards was the prestigious “Best of Class” award in the Online/Interactive category.

The award-winning email campaigns reflect Travel South Dakota’s commitment to inspiring visitors, driving tourism growth, and highlighting the state's unique attractions through compelling marketing. The Insights Email is a representation of Travel South Dakota’s effort to share data with South Dakota’s tourism industry in an engaging format.
“This recognition is a testament to the power of engaging content and evolving strategy with our email marketing program,” said Jim Hagen, Secretary of the South Dakota Department of Tourism. “We are incredibly proud of our collaboration with Lawrence & Schiller in showcasing the beauty and experiences of South Dakota in a timely way that resonates with travelers.”
The American Advertising Awards, hosted by the American Advertising Federation – South Dakota (AAF-SD), is the premier competition for recognizing outstanding creativity in advertising. The competition serves as the first tier in a national three-stage awards process, with Gold-winning entries automatically advancing to the District 8 competition. From there, entities compete on the national stage against some of the most innovative campaigns in the industry.
