The Excellence in Tourism Innovation Award, first presented at the 2013 conference, is given by the Department of Tourism to honor an industry partner for its innovative thinking in marketing or special promotion that is elevating the visitor's experience.

Wylie Park and Storybook Land has been wowing visitors for more than 40 years and has become one of the top ten municipal parks in the nation

It grew so popular that they had to institute a master plan of expansion which included adding 106 RV sites, 33 cabins and two tenting areas.

Wylie Park's popularity shouldn’t come as a surprise. When you offer free admission and activities like horseshoes, bumper boats, go karts, mini-golf, sand castle and fishing contests, and theatre company performances, you’re going to draw a crowd.

You can explore a castle, take a ride on a 30-horse carousel, enjoy a ride in a wizard’s balloon, or climb aboard the world famous train, which in 2018 welcomed its one millionth passenger.

Wylie Park was also recognized in 2011 with the George S. Mickelson Great Service Award.

A magical attraction, Wylie Park and Storybook Land, was named the recipient of the 2018 Excellence in Tourism Innovation Award.
